This expansion of the network will bring the total number of Digipole screens available in the capital to 25.

The new Digipole locations, including Donnybrook, Malahide Road, Merrion Road, Naas Road and Navan Road among others, were selected on the basis of outstanding visibility and substantial traffic volumes, delivering extensive coverage across the city.

Each new Digipole is replacing an existing Metropole display.  Additionally, JCDecaux are upgrading the remaining 37 Metropoles around the city, replacing fluorescent lighting with LED lighting.  This change will reduce their energy consumption by 74%, as well as improving picture quality through better light diffusion.  Furthermore, as part of JCDecaux’s ambitious goals to reduce their carbon emissions, all digital formats in their portfolio are now powering down between the hours of 2am and 6am, decreasing energy consumption at a time when traffic levels and audience numbers are at their lowest levels.

The launch of the new Digipoles will increase JCDecaux’s digital roadside displays to 152 screens in Dublin, including Digishelters and Digipanels and the Digi48 in Loughlinstown.  In addition to this, they have a network of 66 digital retail iVision screens in shopping centres nationwide, providing significant opportunities to reach audiences with relevant, contextual messages in real time across the country.

“Increasing our Digipole footprint, upgrading our existing Metropoles and powering down across our Digital Out-of-Home portfolio in the quiet hours, reinforces our commitment to delivering the very best Out-of-Home advertising solutions in the market, whilst minimising the impact our business has on the environment.” – Pat Mannion Commercial Director, JCDecaux
